Asch has a diverse background, but has been concentrating his practice for the past ten years in representing whistleblowers exposing fraud on the U.S. Government in qui tam actions under the Federal False Claims Act. He was recently honored for that work by being named as a finalist for the 2005 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award by Trial Lawyers For Public Justice. Before that, he represented clients in such diverse areas as business transactions and litigation, personal injury, corporate, antitrust, hospital law, school law, real estate, professional responsibility and securities matters. He also spent several years as a small business owner-operator, the publisher/editor of a literary magazine, and drafting and editing legal handbooks and practice aids. He has published over 60 poems and essays in small magazines and has been anthologized in a collection of Chicago poets.
